If you somehow ended up on this website there’s a big chance that, you’re either an outdoor enthusiast or a flyfishing fanatic. In this day and age social media is a big part of our lives, so I wouldn’t be surprised that you came across some flyoutcast pictures or videos on instagram or facebook and decided to check out this website. So what is this – flyoutcast blog?

From the first glimpse it might look like it’s just another website out there, and while it might be true in some way, I will try to explain how different it is and why I decided to start flyoutcast. First of all flyoucast is a blog that is definitely not about a gear, reviews, product endorsement and advertisement. So here you’re not going to see any crazy rambling about techniques or methods, right or wrongs, bragging about brands and so on. Lets leave all the technicalities for people on the forums.

Flyoutcast is about getting outside and enjoying what great Australian outdoors as well as other destinations has to offer. Fishing, camping, hiking, spending time with friends and family or just by yourself. But most importantly exploring and enjoying the mother nature. Every country, every continent on this planet are so different and unique, has endless of mind-blowing places and nature treasures that people take for granted. It’s easy to get caught in a fast paced life we’re living these days instead of slowing down for a second and appreciating the environment that surrounds us. A drive through windy roads in the mountains, a cruise on a highway along the ocean or a walk down to the river – what could be more healing for the soul?

For me flyfishing has always been just another reason to to spend more time outdoors. Just getting away from the noise and crowds of the city and giving your mind a so much needed break, by leaving your worries behind for at least a day or two. It has never been about the actual fishing. Tying flies, reading articles, planning the next trip or trying to find a new spot on the map which likely has never been fished before. That’s what is it all about. Eventually it just becomes a lifestyle you follow without thinking about it too much, rather than a hobby or another passion. You cant look into a water like a normal human being after you become a flyfisherman. Every time I rock up to a beach or or a random piece of water, eyes instinctively scan for any surface activity and hands are reaching out for polarized sunglasses. For other people it might not be necessary flyfishing. It could be offroading, stand up paddling, kayaking or whatever. If that’s what triggers that desire in you to explore our beautiful planet, means we have something in common.

With flyoutcast – the idea was to have some kind of online diary where I could post videos, photos and share some ideas without being restricted to certain social media rules or format. Always nice to structure your blog the way you like it. And also be able to tweak things along the way, and for that reason having a dedicated website seemed like a good way to go. I also wanted to have my own twist in the way I report and see things when I’m out there, which hopefully makes this blog a little bit different from the other ones you see on the web.

So enjoy going through the photos and browsing this website, share your opinions or suggestions in the comments below. Or get in touch and come and join me for an adventure. See you out there on the water and tight lines!
