Another wet and miserable session in the mountains

As probably everyone’s aware we had stupidly long periods of rain in the last year. Here’s some few photos from the trip where we braved the conditions and tried to look for some clear water in the Blue Mountains and prove to ourselves that it is possible to catch fish in any kind of weather. At first we tried a little creek and then we moved to the main river later in the day. The conditions were changing within hours or minutes sometimes. Early in the morning the creek was flowing nice and clear, so catching a few brownies on dries or nymphs was still possible. But after some more heavy rain fell we saw creek rising rapidly and getting dirtier and dirtier. That made as to adapt, move to the main river and hope the murky water hasn’t reached it yet. When we got there, we pleasantly surprised – the water was pretty fishable so we spend rest of the day there, catching both – rainbows and browns but mostly on heavily weighted bright coloured nymphs as the water was higher then usual and flowing fast. In the end it turned out being not a bad little session considering the circumstances.
