Had a couple of friends visiting Sydney recently, so we made a plan to go check out few places I normally fish in the Blue Mountains and just go for some random exploring. We had high expectations considering that fishing in Central West/Blue Mountains area has been red hot this year. The reality was much different, fish looked to be in the spawning mode already ant not looking at our dry flies at all. We had a few good casts to a one little trout in a tiny water where three of us just watched him rejecting the dry fly cast after cast. Never-mind the fishing, we brought some beer and some sausages to cook on gas cooker so just sitting around on the riverbank cracking up jokes and sharing some stories was enough of the entertainment. Quick visit to the pub on the way back, pizza in town and the day was complete even without landing a single fish.
