Blue Mountains rainbows

This summer has been ridiculous in New South Wales. Some areas experienced two or even three major floods, and as off today the rain still keeps on falling. I had big doubts about the trip to the Blue Mountains, but thought if even the little creeks will be blown out I might just go and take photos read more

Summertime in High Country

Got to spend a few days camping and fishing up in the high country during summer holiday season. It’s a bit of a difference experience compared to other times of the year when we would normally go. After all the rain NSW has been getting, the hills are lush and green and covered in striving read more

Blue Mountains – The search of a brown trout (Part 2)

Second part of the day with Kenny continued after a quick flick on a flooded main river. With having not much success, as the water visibility was pretty poor, and apart from couple of rises we didn’t see much insect or fish activity, we decided to hit the smaller streams instead. Now it was read more

Blue Mountains – The search of a brown trout (Part 1)

So a few weeks ago I teamed up with a legend himself Kenny Smith, who made his way down from Queensland for work and got stuck here because of the boarder rules at that time. We decided to use that for our benefit and hit the Blue Mountains stream with a hope of putting Kenny on his first NSW trout. read more

Weird ass rainbow

Haven’t posted in a while now. Was just browsing through my Lightroom photos and saw the pic of this trout I caught up in the Blue Mountain lake during winter. Just look at it’s shape. Some kind of piranha shaped gangster of the flats. Pretty cool fish nevertheless.

From highlands to rainforest

Tassie you beauty!
With easing of an interstate travel restrictions on the horizon now, all the keen trout fishos should add Tassie to their list as one of the places to visit this summer. People and businesses definitely need your support during these hard times and every penny spent in the region would help them regardless. To the flyfishers like myself Tasmania is probably best known for its sensational trout fishing in the lakes. Not sure why but I always prefered the sound of a gurgling water, the boulders and a curiosity to see what’s around the next river bend over the still water. And Tasmania certainly has some amazing rivers that run through and incredible terrain and landscape. Trout that live there have the most incredible markings on them that I’ve ever seen. In the last few weeks I was going through the footage I’d taken back in April while in Tassie and realized that I could probably stitch a short video of that trip together. So here it is.

Where rivers never sleep

Short video of a trip I did back in April chasing a hopper hungry brown trout in Victoria’s High Country. So cool to go through all the clips I’d taken back then and now having bit of extra time and putting them together to come up with this clip. Hopefully I captures Autumn goodness in the remote part of North East Victoria. Tight lines.

Third time lucky

Third time lucky they say. This was the third trip to the Eucumbene this year and it happened to be one of the better trips of the 2021 for sure. So many fish caught I even lost the count. From one pool I remember pulling out maybe 4 fish and loosing 3, that’s pretty good on my books. Here’s read more

Eucumbene – Round Two

Second trip down to the Eucumbene this last season was much better compared to the previous one. Managed to land a few decent size trout, and one of them was a stonker probably my biggest fish for the year. Patience and some water stalking pays off sometimes, most fish smashing small size nymphs instead read more

Autumn on the Eucumbene

This was my first trip this Autumn to the Eucumbene, where me and my friends decided to fish and camp on the upper reaches of the river. Couple of cold nights and only a big log fire managed to save us from freezing our butts off. Ended up fishing not a whole lot this time, more drinking and having read more
