Tasmania – not a bad place to be

Back in April I did a quick exploratory trip to Tasmania, with a little bit of fishing and hiking done in the North West part of the island. Can confirm – Tasmania is pretty unique place with vast landscapes and fast running rivers it’s a flyfisherman’s and hikers place to be. Fishing read more

Autumn in Victoria’s High Country

Couple months ago, I was browsing my phone when some kind of add popped up with Tasmania’s goverment covering the cost of ferry ride from Melbourne to Tasmania. That sounded way too tempting as I hadn’t been to Tassie before. So I arranged some leave from my work for couple of weeks over read more

Day in the Blue Mountains

Fishing for trout in the Blue Mountains has been really challenging for last couple of year with bushfires and then floods hitting the region badly. After giving a bit of a break for a few months, I decided to give another go and go for a day trip to some of my favorite spots I used to go with my read more

South Coast bass again

Bass fishing was pretty good on the South Coast this year, with bass not hesitating to smash surface flies even on rainy days. Managed to find one my favorite sports to camp within a reasonable driving distance from Sydney, with an easy access to launch a kayak and with no other campers in sight. read more

Barrington Coast

Well, this was just pretty much just a drive through Barrington Coast looking for some water to fish. No secret most of the North Coast NSW had one of the wettest summers on record this year. Country side is looking lush and green which was a pleasure to look at. Drove past quite a few potential bass read more

South Coast Bass

The weather this summer has been pretty funny. I think on average we’ve had more rainy days than the sunny ones. That’s obviously affecting river water flows and most of them are flooded quite badly. Even though the forecast wasn’t looking promising this weekend as well, with some read more

Such a wild, diverse and an overall awesome place, should be definitely on top of the list for anyone that likes mountains but are stuck in Australia and can’t travel anywhere read more

Alpine Trout

Another video from my spring time trip to the Kosciuszko National Park this year. After completing a hike on the main range, I then decided to spend couple of days wondering around the high plains and exploring the rivers and creeks there. Days were sunny and bright so trout were not easy to find. But most of the time it’s just a matter of putting some kilometers in and finally you’ll spot that gorgeous alpine trout hiding behind a rock. Happy watching.

Looking for trout in the Kosciuszko National Park

Kosciuszko National Park is an amazing place to be and when you get there you wanna spend as much time as possible. Fishing this kind of pristine surroundings is as good as it gets. Finding a trout in those clear mountain streams is another story though. You really have to put in some kilometers and read more

Mountains Await

Hiking the Main Range of the Kosciuszko National Park in spring has been on my list for years now, and finally I made it happen. Mountain peaks and some tracks are still covered in snow, alpine flowers are blooming and rivers are in a full flow – what an amazing sight to see and to wake up to. I put this short video together that hopefully captures the beauty of the Australian Alps and shows that the land Down Under is not only beaches and desert. Hope you’ll enjoy this one.
