Chasing the Rainbow

I heard about this river called Fish river that flows through the Central West region of the New South Wales. It’s one of the better streams in that area that hold a good number of trout, and Autumn being a perfect time of the year to try and catch one. Me, not owing a car at the moment, I had to look for alternatives s on how to try and get there. This meant using buses, trains and possibly even hitchhiking. Oh well and that’s what I ended up doing, no matter how crazy it might sound to the ordinary Sydneysider. Good trip nevertheless. Managed to get a lift from a Tarana train station to the camping are from a lovely elderly couple who also haded me in a bag of freshly baked Anzac biscuits. Does it get better than this? The fish was biting too, nothing too big but good fun on dries and nymphs. So overall pretty successful little “expedition” out West.
