South Coast flats bash

Shortly after coming back from New Zealand I got some news that Australian Salmon have moved into the estuaries of the South Coast NSW for they annual winter migration. Decision was made to pack our bags and load car on Thursday, leave as early as possible after work on Friday arvo and drive for 6-7 hours south to get to our usual spot. Weekend turned out to be pretty epic, fishing was red hot and nights at the campfire even better. Tide made a big difference on where we’re supposed to be fishing in the estuary.  Earlier in the morning when tide was low fish would stick around almost in the surf zone, but then move deeper into the estuary with the incoming tide which made it easier to reach them just off the sand-flats. Few massive manta rays cruising around, and some bigger fish at the surf zone could be spotted in some of the drone shots (not included in the gallery). Overall, pretty successful weekend.
