South Coast Bass

The weather this summer has been pretty funny. I think on average we’ve had more rainy days than the sunny ones. That’s obviously affecting river water flows and most of them are flooded quite badly. Even though the forecast wasn’t looking promising this weekend as well, with some more heavy rainfall predicted for the most of the East Coast NSW, I decided to bite a bullet go for a drive and at least explore the South Coast a little bit. After arriving to my camping spot I realised that the area didn’t get hit with rainfall too badly and river is flowing quite nicely, a bit high but with pretty good visibility. Managed to land couple of decent size over the weekend, but unfortunately broke my 3wt CTS rod, when trying to pull fish out of the submerged timber. I would like to say rookie mistake, but it was really just my stupidity. Well I guess lesson learned and now back to the rod building station to fix the broken rod tip. Apart form this minor accident, pretty good trip and hopefully be back fishing that river once again soon.
